We have a strong record of successful buy side advisory assignments in relation to public or private target companies and are able to advise interested buyers on attractive targets through our global network of relationships.

Various advisory work that we undertake does not fit a conventional ‘transaction’ definition. Examples include our work advising the Australian National Rugby League Commission on the sale of television broadcast rights and work for the global partnership of Arthur Andersen in the immediate aftermath of the cases that followed the collapse of Enron. Acted as lead financial advisor to global music industry player EMI Group plc, on a recommended cash offer from Maltby Limited, a company formed at the direction of Terra Firma
Acted as financial adviser to Informa plc on its recommended acquisition of Datamonitor plc, a leading global provider of market intelligence
Acted as lead financial advisor to SSAB Svenskt Stål AB on its acquisition of IPSCO Inc., a leading Canadian producer of energy tubulars and steel plate in North America with an annual steel making capacity of 4.3 million tons
Trans Mountain Pipeline System
Advised Independent Committee of the Board of Kinder Morgan Energy Partners on the acquisition of Trans Mountain Pipeline System, an ~800 mile pipeline which transports crude oil and refined products from Alberta to British Columbia and Washington State
