Leveraging our independence and lack of conflicts, we have a strong track record in sell side advisory roles. Acting for target companies, special board committees or selling shareholders, we can operate at the heart of any process, assist in negotiations and give impartial and objective advice about the merits of bids received.
We have a strong record of successful buy side advisory assignments in relation to public or private target companies and are able to advise interested buyers on attractive targets through our global network of relationships.

Greenhill has a number of sizeable mergers in its list of completed transactions both in the US and internationally.
Various advisory work that we undertake does not fit a conventional ‘transaction’ definition. Examples include our work advising the Australian National Rugby League Commission on the sale of television broadcast rights and work for the global partnership of Arthur Andersen in the immediate aftermath of the cases that followed the collapse of Enron. Advised Energy East Corporation, a super-regional electric and gas utility with nearly 3 million regulated customers in the northeast US, on its sale to Iberdrola SA
Jane’s Information Group
Advised The Woodbridge Company Limited, the holding company for the Thomson family’s investments, on the sale of Jane’s Information Group, a world-leading provider of information and analysis on global defence and security, to IHS Inc.
Dobbies Garden Centres plc
Acted as financial adviser to Tesco plc on its recommended acquisition of Dobbies Garden Centres plc, one of the UK's largest garden centre retailers
Slough Estates USA (subsidiary of Slough Estates plc)
Provided oversight of the process and an informal second opinion to the senior management of Slough Estates plc
Acted as sole financial adviser to Ceridian Corporation, an information services provider to the human resource, transportation and retail markets, on its sale to Thomas H. Lee Partners and Fidelity National Financial
