Richard M. Steinman to Join Greenhill as a Managing Director

NEW YORK, January 16, 2007 – Greenhill & Co., Inc. (NYSE: GHL), a leading independent investment bank, announced today that Richard M. Steinman will join the Firm as a Managing Director based in New York. Mr. Steinman, a veteran investment banker who headed the Global Retail group at Morgan Stanley, will focus on advisory opportunities in the retail sector.

Mr. Steinman, 43, spent 17 years at Morgan Stanley in New York, concentrating on the retail sector throughout that time.

Mr. Steinman earned his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania at The Wharton School.
