CARL-GEORG BAUER-SCHLICHTEGROLL TO JOIN GREENHILL AS MANAGING DIRECTOR IN LONDON TO LEAD AN EXPANDED FOCUS ON THE EUROPEAN FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS SECTOR

New York, March 4, 2012---Greenhill & Co., Inc. (NYSE: GHL), a leading independent investment bank, announced today that Carl-Georg Bauer-Schlichtegroll will join the Firm as a Managing Director in London to lead an expanded focus on financial institutions across Europe. He joins a team of six Greenhill Managing Directors already focused on that sector globally.

Mr. Bauer has advised leading banks, insurance companies and asset managers in Europe for the last 22 years. He joins Greenhill from Credit Suisse, where he was Vice-Chairman and co-head of Financial Institutions Group EMEA since 2010. Prior to that he spent 8 years at JP Morgan, co-heading the European Financial Institutions Group, and 12 years at Goldman Sachs, where he started his career, working in both New York and London’s Financial Institution Groups as Managing Director.
